Every month we will feature a new "friend" of ours on this page. Being the Musky Brother's "friend" of the month is as simple as 1,2,3.
    1. Go fishing
    2. Send us you fish stories
    3. Send us your photos
We do the rest. We will pick out a different "friend" every month to post here on the website.

Here is December's Friend of the Month Mathew Walczak:

The first picture is of Mathew in 2006. He is with his dad Joel and his first musky. He caught this beauty when he was just 8 years old. The second picture is of Joel and his father. The picture was taken in 1976 thirty years before Mathews first musky. We thought that was pretty cool. Joel is a great guide in SE Wisconsin for more information about his guide service click here.

Here is September and October's Friend of the Month Mikayla Winters:

Mikayla Winters
My name is Mikayla. I live in Illinois, about 200 miles south of Chicago.  My family owns a cabin in Wisconsin on Big Sissabagama Lake (near Hayward).  We go up every year.
I love to fish.  I have been fishing since I was old enough to hold a pole.  In fact my first pole was a Barbie one.  Like most kids I started out fishing for pan fish.  When I was nine, my dad set me up with a bigger rod and gave me some top-water bass lures to use.  I caught a few bass.  It was exciting for nine.  Just this year (I'm twelve now), Dad bought me an UglyStick and a real reel.  Later that week I caught my first musky, a 34 1/2 in.  I was so happy!  And a little scared!  I have also caught three or four northern.
Fishing isn't all of my life.  I am in softball, volleyball, cheerleading, and on the scholar bowl team (that's like Jeopardy, but you don't get to choose the subjects).
Thank you for the invitation to be a friend of the month.  I would love that!  That is all I have to say for now.  If you need anything else just e-mail me.  And remember, don't ever underestimate the power of a fisherwoman!

Mikayla

We hope to go fishing with you sometime Mikayla! It is very cool to see you into fishing! Thank you for contacting us!
From your friends, The Musky Brothers.

Here is July and August's Friend of the Month Luke Mueller:
Luke Mueller
Our friend Luke loves to go hunting with his Mom and Dad. He also like to play all kind of sports. He likes to play baseball, football and basketball. His favorite lake is Big Arbor Vitae in Northern Wisconsin. This picture is a fish that Luke netted for his Dad.

Luke is friend of the month for 2 months because we were out of town and did not get his picture up in time. We were in Cooperstown New York. We played a baseball tournament there.

Luke, good luck fishing this year from your friends, the Musky Brothers.

Here is June's Friend of the Month Sam Belanger:
Our friend's name is Sam, and he is a fishing fool! From spring time smallmouth fishing, to late fall sucker fishing for musky, he likes it all. Sam is also an avid hunter. Sam is 13 years old, and has been fishing since about 4 years of age. Loves topwater frog fishing for largemouth and soft plastic finesse fishing for smallies. Like anything when it comes to musky.

Great fish Sam, hope your 2010 season is awesome! Thanks for being our friend of the month from the Musky Brothers.

Here is May's Friend of the Month Mark Nielsen:

Mark NielsenHis name is Mark Nielsen. Mark likes fishing for Bass  the most of any fish but as long as he can cast it is fun.
His Dad thinks he I burn't him out on fishing when he was young dragging bottom bouncers all over the Iowa Great Lakes. Parents think about that! You don't want to burn your kids out on fishing.  They take
an annual trip to Lake of the Woods each year searching for big toothy critters like this 40 incher .....His first Muskie.
He caught this fish when he was 12  and now he is a freshman in High School and that is the only one he has caught so far. The last few years he has made up for missing out on catching a Musky by catching plenty of Walleye, Smallmouth, and Northern Pike. He is going for the Grand Slam this year!

The Musky Brothers wish you luck. We sure hope you stick a big one!!!

Here is April's Friend of the Month Cody Tyran from Canada:

Me and Uncle RandyEnjoying campfire with Uncle Randy and GrandpaLook at this giant Lake Trout

Hi guys! My name is Cody Tyran and I absolutely love fishing! I have grown up every summer since I was born at my families fishing island resort on Osbourne Bay, Eagle Lake, Ontario, Canada. It is called Century Lodge! The fishing there is awesome! It has been a lot of fun growing up around the camp. I love talking with guests that come up and each week I get to meet new friends, talk about fishing lures in the dining room, and go fishing! That’s how I met Jacob and Jared who came up with their dad. We get lots of fathers and sons.

There are lots of things that I love to do at the lodge. Looking for tadpoles, making fires, catching frogs, helping my uncle drive the boat are just a couple of things that I do every day. There is so much exploring on the island and around the area and lots of animals. I have seen moose, bear, and lots of Eagles. This past summer I went to our fly-in and blazed a trail with my grandpa and Uncle Randy. It was lots of fun finding our way through the woods looking for old markings from the past. When we weren’t working on that, I caught some really nice lake trout (I think 5 in all) in about 2 1/2 hrs. Topwater fishing at the main lodge is, of course, my favorite and the muskie fishing is something that I am going to love growing up around. They are big!!! Thank you for asking me to be your friend of the month and God bless you all! Have great fishing! Visit www.CenturyLodge.com and hope to see you there!

We fished at Century Lodge, we had a great time. We hope to see you soon Cody, thanks for being our friend of the month. From the Musky Brothers

Here is March's Friend of the Month Michael Hannes from Wisconsin:

40 incher on Pewaukee lake43 incher

Michael Hannes is now a freshman at Racine Horlick High School where he is on the diving team.  He has been fishing since he was 6 or 7.  He loves going out with his dad and uncle on the lake his grandparents live on and catching bass, pike, and muskies.  He also fishes on Pewaukee and Okauchee lakes with his uncle whenever he gets a chance.  His biggest musky to date is a 43 incher that he caught on a topraider in a figure 8.  When school is out, he can be found casting for whatever he can at his grandparents house and waiting for his uncle to call and take him out.

We love fishing with topwater baits! It is very cool to have caught a 43" fish on a topraider. Congratulations Michael!!! From the Musky Brothers.
